Richmond Cycle Hub
INVVU provided multidisciplinary design services for the delivery of the Richmond Cycle Hub at Richmond Station, creating one of London’s largest secure cycle parking facilities.
The project increased cycle parking capacity from 172 to 790 spaces within a highly constrained operational rail environment, encouraging sustainable travel by integrating cycling with public transport. Completed in October 2025, the facility incorporates a lightweight steel structure with innovative GRP flooring, solar PV panels, intelligent lighting controls, rainwater harvesting and biodiversity enhancements.
Acting as lead designer, INVVU delivered architectural, civil, structural, geotechnical and M&E design services, alongside railway engineering assurance and temporary works design. The innovative lightweight construction solution eliminated the need for piling, significantly reducing embodied carbon, material use and construction impacts.
The completed hub provides a secure, attractive and sustainable transport facility that supports healthier travel choices, reduces pressure on local infrastructure and contributes to a greener future for Richmond.
Exciting News – Richmond Cycle Hub has been shortlisted for the ICE London Awards 2026 in the Best Project – Sustainability category.
