INVVU was commissioned to design the refurbishment and reconfiguration of five areas of March Station, focusing on improved facilities and increased parking.
Key Areas of Work:
Platform 1 Building Reconfiguration and Refurbishment
Large waiting room, compliant toilets, and new ticket office.
Refurbishment of key building features like windows and doors.
Upgrades to electrical installations and other station infrastructure.
Car Park Reconfiguration and Extension
Reconfiguration of the existing car park with new spaces.
Demolition of disused portacabin to extend parking.
New pedestrian pathways, taxi bays, and bus turning area.
Platform 4 Canopy Refurbishment
Replacement of the asbestos roof and structural repairs to the canopy on Platform 4.
New Car Park to the North
New car park with 99 parking spaces and accessible bays.
Improved access and bus stop location to reduce safety risks near the level crossing.
The project also involved public and council consultations, aiming to improve station facilities, provide community space, and accommodate future development.
